It was rare that Ghost got a break from work, but days like this helped him appreciate that there were things outside of the military and the bloodshed that came with it. Not like he had an issue with it, he chose the job for a reason, but… days like this were nice.

He was on leave for a week, and most days were filled with just relaxing at his flat, sometimes sharing a night with Johnny. Today was meant to just be a night with the team, going to a pub, drinking, and hanging out. Very original.

He arrived at the bar a half an hour early, his car parked out in the lot, and stayed in his car with the windows down listening to Johnny rant about what drink he’d be getting himself. Ghost was only half listening. Every once in a while he’d have to give Soap a response, delayed at that, but still there. His attention was taken away from his surroundings for the minute he had to actually answer back.

But that was just enough time for something to slip his sight.

Quickly his attention was shifted away from Johnny when Ghost picked up on a familiar sound of a stumbling kind of walk, the kind of stroll a wounded soldier would have. His eyes quickly darted around the area, looking out his opened window for where it was coming from. In a blink of an eye, Ghost spotted in his rear view mirror someone hobbling quite quickly down into the parking lot, nearing his car. Ghost’s eyebrows furrowed, forcing him to squint to see why the hell someone would be walking like they were injured. “Johnny, give me a sec.” Ghost said into the phone, then pushing open his car door and looking in the person’s direction. As they limped closer, Ghost’s eyes widened.

They looked much younger, around eighteen, twenty at most, but their face was messed up bad. Clear defensive wounds. Ghost couldn’t help but pick up his pace as he ran over to them, clutching his phone tighter. He brought the phone to his ear, saying, “Call you back.” he hung up and started dialing 999.
