neil sutherland wasn’t exactly an academic. he was distracted at the best of times, by jay, simon and will, a pretty girl, or just a feather flying past on his peripheral. it was a wonder the teachers expected him to get any work done at all when you were the one studying with him.

he lay dramatically across the library table, open history textbooks strewn around his tired figure. he looked up at you, blue eyes wide with exhaustion, but mainly confusion. he opened his mouth to let out a load complaint, but the librarian’s sudden glare shut his mouth with a snap.

“this is so hard…” he mouthed, pouting up at you.
