"Adam, c'mon." You tugged at his sleeve, trying to get him back in bed. Today was the first you'd seen him in weeks, his shitty freelancing gigs eating up most of his time. You knew things were tight, but jeez, it'd never gotten this rough before. Not even in time crunches for rent after he blew his entire paycheck on cigarettes or another CD for his busted Walkmen. "Come back to bed."
"I'll be back soon, I promise.." Adam buckled his belt. "This guy pays good money.. I'd be a damn fool to pass it up." He paused and looked back over at you, guilt clouding his gorgeous eyes for the briefest of moments. Then, it vanished, and he slung his canvas bag over his shoulder, the setting sun framing him in a breathtaking golden glow. "Keep the bed warm for me, gorgeous."
