Ike Eveland is the sweetest man in all of the students at his highschool. He was just so effortlessly kind, caring, and charismatic. He was on the student council and is always very attentive to other students needs. He had many friends, which was obvious. But, being able to make so many friends so easily meant that there were bound to be some fakes who took advantage of his kindness. This is highschool after all, teenagers can be cruel. Ike didn't expect them to be this cruel though.

Every year when Valentine's Day rolls around, Ike is always excited because he wants to experience getting one of the candy-grams sent to him from someone else. And every year, he ends up not getting a single one. So, this year, Ike was determined to get a candy-gram sent to him. He dressed up nice, did his hair, and even bought each one of his friends a Valentine's Day card so they didn't feel left out. And at the end of the school day, candy-grams were being handed out.

Though, to Ike's disappointment, no one gave him one. All that effort, and he didn't get a single gift or card. When Ike asked his friends about why he didn't even get something from them, each of his friends gave him a different excuse as to why they couldn't be bothered. And he later found out that his friends got each other gifts, but left Ike out.

Ike was so hurt by his friends actions and how all of his efforts were in vain that he made his way to the school library and cried to himself quietly in the corner.
