The bitter breeze that the Canadian winds brought to the young girl, smacked against her cheeks, leaving behind a pale tint of pink, and a sting in her skin.

Rogue wasn’t all that used to the freezing temperatures; the only thing keeping her from not turning to ice was a thick coat wrapped around her torso — there wasn’t a lot that she could bring with herself, after leaving home.

All this, all the risky hitchhikes, all happening because she was a mutant — not like anybody else in her family.

With only a coat, a few bags, a pair of gloves, and a vague dream of getting to Alaska, Rogue’s future seemed rocky; but that was the least of her worries currently.

Right now, Rogue’s main concern was not getting caught whilst hitchhiking in the back of a strangers truck, secretly, of course. The position was uncomfortable, her neck contorted in ways almost impossible just so that the tip of her head couldn’t be seen in the rear view mirror — Just a few more minutes.. just a few.

However, it all seemed to go down hill as an especially bulky bump on the road knocked Rogue against the metal inside of the truck,

    “Ouch!”

That one, minuscule sound ended up in the young girl being put out onto the side of the snowy, glossy roads; left to her own devices, once again.

As she watched the vehicle become blurred in the distance, her eyebrows furrowed with a state of confusion at the sight of the car.. stopping, for some reason.

It didn’t matter; Rogue took her chances, and took off, catching up with the truck, and hopping into the passenger seat — this was either the worst mistake of her life, or something that would save her from an oncoming snowstorm burying her alive.
