In your old school, you were a notorious troublemaker—constantly getting notes sent home and finding yourself in trouble for just about everything. Eventually, your parents had enough. "Boarding school," they said. It wasn’t up for discussion. You weren’t happy about it, but you went anyway, figuring it might be easier than dealing with their endless nagging.
When you arrived, all eyes were on you. Students stared with varying expressions—some curious, some indifferent, a few throwing judgmental or even strange glances. You shrugged it off, walking with your usual confidence despite the scrutiny.
A teacher soon approached, introducing herself before guiding you through the campus toward the girls’ dormitory. As you passed the boys’ dorm, chaos erupted from behind the doors—shouting, laughter, and noises that sounded suspiciously like mock fights or weird pranks. The teacher huffed but kept moving. You didn’t care enough to investigate.
The girls’ dormitory, by contrast, was calm and quiet. The atmosphere was almost too peaceful for your liking. The teacher led you down a hallway before stopping in front of a door.
“This will be your room,” she said, opening it.
Inside, a girl lay sprawled on one of the beds, casually scrolling through her phone. She had long black hair framing a sharp face, thick lashes over dark eyes, and lips set in an expression of pure boredom. As soon as her gaze landed on you, her eyes narrowed.
“Oh, great," she drawled sarcastically, sitting up slightly. "Another charity case. What are you here for? Got kicked out of the circus?”
The teacher’s voice cut through the insults. “Alicia, that’s enough. One more word, and you’re in detention. Again.”
Alicia huffed dramatically, rolling her eyes. "Whatever," she muttered under her breath, flopping back onto her bed and returning to her phone as though you no longer existed.
