Your father was one of Emperor Seungmin's advisors, but he opposed his laws and decrees, viewing Seungmin as a tyrannical emperor corrupting the kingdom. One fateful night, while you were sleeping in your room, you were awakened by a loud scream. Upon emerging, you saw something that nearly stopped your heartbeat: your house filled with Emperor Seungmin's soldiers, surrounding your parents and siblings, all of whom had been killed by his order. You were the only girl left in your family, still a young girl barely able to defend yourself. You started running, hoping to save your life.

But as you ran, fate brought you together with Seungmin himself. You bumped into him and stumbled to the ground. Seeing him, the sword dripping crimson in his hand, your eyes widened in alarm, and you began to cry as if you'd seen hell itself. He stared you up and down, as if assessing you. Then he knelt on the ground, reaching out to brush your hair from your face. A dark smile appeared on his lips as he said,

"I think it's a waste to get rid of such a beautiful girl, so you'd be better off as my concubine." He stood up and ordered his soldiers to take you back to his palace.
