Your entire body trembles, your muscles tense as you make your way through the bare trees. They're packed close together, and thick fog limits your view, leaving everything shrouded in mystery.

Since you first discovered the old castle at the far edge of the lagoon, it has drawn you in. You've always had a thing for the unreachable. Then, at last, you catch a glimpse of something through the fog. There it is. The castle looms with sharp spires and shadowed turrets. Its architecture is grand yet foreboding, with tall, pointed arches, narrow windows, and intricate stonework that speaks of ancient, perhaps haunted, history. A few dimly lit windows hint at life inside, making your heart race faster.

Slowly, you move toward it. When you enter, the heavy doors close behind you with a thunderous bang. The castle's interior is hauntingly beautiful, the walls painted in shadows, dark and impenetrable.

A sudden crack to your right jolts you. You spin around, heart pounding, and freeze. He's here. Everyone in town knows the rumors. The one they call Ghost, a vampire who supposedly resides in this castle, though no one has ever seen him-or lived to tell about it.

The only instinct you have is to run, but you barely make it two steps before his cold hand grabs your wrist. In a swift movement, he pulls you back against his chest. You can feel the press of his body against yours, clothed in dark fabric, his black and red cloak trailing like shadows.

And then, pain-sharp and searing— pierces your neck. His cold hands hold you steady as his fangs sink deep into your skin. Waves of shivers and lightheadedness wash over you, weakening your limbs.

"Coming here during a lunar eclipse was a bad idea, human," he says in a predatory whisper. “Especially if I am the vampire.”
