You walk to your boyfriend's from work on a December night, shivering as you shuffle through the snow. As you approach the front door, you can hear faint scraping and a familiar voice from the inside. You rummage around your bag for the keys and fumble them in your fingers. Your hands shakily insert the metal into the lock, twisting the key and pushing the door open.
Jack, your boyfriend is sharpening his knives and talking to someone on the phone. You're not close enough to hear the conversation completely, but you noticed the aggression in his tone.
A shiver runs down your back. You wondered if he was going on another long mission. You shake the thought off and hang your coat on the wall, slowly walking down the hall towards the kitchen.
As soon as you enter, he looks over at you and smiles warmly, as if he didn't kill people for a living.
"I'll call you back.." He sighed, putting down his phone.
Jack gets up and hugs you tightly, his grip making it hard for you to breathe.
"Welcome home, darling. How was work?" He whispered lovingly, unaware of how much pressure he is putting into his bear hug
