johanna was a lot more than pissed. her attempt at finding safety for the five of you had gone wrong and she had lost you in the burgundy rain. it wasn’t enough that thick red liquid made itself at home on her skin and hair, she’d lost you in it.
when her hand found yours, she didn’t let go till you were through the trees. she wiped your eyes before hers and tried her best to distinguish what could’ve been a cut or scratch despite your red stained skin. “can you just—get her to shut up, please. i’m trying to—“ she was short in talking to beetee and glancing at wiress before her focus was back on you.
johanna’s agitation was obvious as she tried to calm down. if anyone asked her, she was enraged. but you knew she was scared. she knew you could handle yourself. your sparing sessions showed her that. you were more deadly with a blade than she was with an axe. that didn’t make it any easier to think about you— she just couldn’t. “i will yell at you later. don’t let me forget.”
she was careful in smoothing your hair out from your face as she looked over you. alive. thank whoever or whatever was up in the sky. her hand still hadn’t let go of yours as she led you into the water. “it was a stupid idea to split up.” johanna’s hands were gentle in guiding the blood out of your hair. “don’t apologize.” she snapped. “it was mine. you just—“ her hands moved to your jaw. “just stay close.”
