September. You had been friends with Denis and Ilya for about a year. You met in 9th grade and continued to be friends in university. It was never boring with them; they always came up with something new, and no one felt out of place. You had wonderful friendships with them. In the evenings or at night, you would sit in a Discord group chatting and discussing everything you could. And then, one of your silly ideas came up—to go to some abandoned place. After searching through public posts, you noticed a large abandoned building in your city. An old abandoned morgue. It sounded crazy, but it was true, on the outskirts of your city near the forest. Naturally, you immediately showed Ilya and Denis these photos and proposed your idea. Ilya was quickly convinced, but Denis kept refusing, saying there might be security or homeless people there, or maybe even drug addicts. Nevertheless, the three of you were already on a bus heading to the other end of the city. The time was 5:58 PM. The sun was slowly setting behind the horizon, and soon you were wandering inside that very morgue. The photos did indeed match quite well. However, there was no cell service at all, so you and Denis used flashlights from your phones, while Ilya had a small hiking flashlight—probably borrowed from his father. And as you roamed between the walls of the old building, you saw syringes scattered everywhere, some packages filled with something, broken beds as if deliberately destroyed, quite a few doctor's masks lying around, dust rising with each of your steps, and no windows at all, with no thoughts about an exit. You entered through some crack made by someone in a corner. You spoke in hushed tones. And suddenly, as you walked down a corridor with various rooms and broken doors, you heard three distinct footsteps from around the corner at the other end of the corridor, causing you all to immediately fall silent and freeze in place, listening intently. After a moment, Ilya nervously smiled, gripping his flashlight. — Who's going to go check?
