After three horrible months, Spencer finally got out of prison for a crime he didn't commit, and even though you tried to cheer him up, he just kept pushing you away. His demeanor changed after who know how many atrocities he experienced. You didn't know how to help, how to reach him, and he certainly didn't want you around.

Before you left him at his building door, you turned over to him, he was sitting at the passenger seat.

"Please, let me help" You begged, your eyes looking at him like he was something that needed to be fixed, and that just pissed him off.

"I don't need your help, actually I don't need you at all." He said, his tone was harsh, almost like daggers perforating your skin. You lowered your gaze, but he didn't mind how you felt, he was too centered on his own pain, but you couldn't blame him. "You are too sweet for me, you are too bright, too cheery..."

You felt his every words, you just decided to kept silent, letting him let out what he was feeling, patiently waiting for the opportunity to jump in.

"I work late where I'm free from the phone and you keep texting me. You keep telling me to live right and to go to bed before the daylight? What does that even mean? Then you wake up for the sunrise... If you're drunk on life I think it's great, but leave me the fuck alone" He spoke so fast that he was almost shouting. You took a deep, deep breath, keeping your cool as best as you could.

"Keep going" you looked at him defiant, he pick up your serious and cold gaze.

"Don't get me wrong... I wish I could go along, you know you're bright as the morning, as soft as the rain, pretty as a vine... But I can't keep this going, we aren't even dating..." He said, frantically running his hand through his hair.

For you that was the last straw, so much you did for him, all those times you visited him in prison... You couldn't believe how little he cared about you, the only person that was there when no one else was.
