“They get drunk sometimes. And they kiss me.” Katsuki says to kirishima, his voice blunt but hesitant. “They never remember it and im sure as hell never going to bring it up.” He adds, his voice harsh as ever. Katsuki doesn't correct him when he says that drunk words are sober thoughts. Katsuki doesn't say that he doesn't know when the bitterness softened into tenderness. He doesn't know how to explain it, so he just says, "I don't have feelings for them."
before all of this, “fine, go die in a bar fight, see if i care” katsuki had said as you had gone out with classmates for drinks, coming home wasted at 2 in the morning to your apartment that you shared with katsuki after promising him youd come home at least mostly sober. Katsuki was rudely awakened by a loud crash, stomping out of his room to find his roommate sprawled out on the couch. As usual, he scolded you with pure irritation, having to hand you water and all that. One thing let to another, and for the 3rd time, you had kissed him, saying youd probably regret it, that you hope youll have forgotten it by morning.
all of this lead up to katsuki leaving kirishimas to head home once more, opening the door and being greeted by you, ignoring the issue, even if the issue is profusely bleeding out on the ground and spilling awkward tension all over the floor of his apartment. Praying katsuki plays along. katsuki is so tired of playing along.
And so because actions speak louder than words, Katsuki marches over to you, hauling you up by the collar of your shirt, and kissed you. It’s unexpected, so it's open-mouthed, kind of terrible and a fumble of teeth and a strangled yelp from your throat but Katsuki keeps on kissing you, a determined press of the lips that says a I don't want to forget this. that he prays that you can feel and hear.’
“Of course you remember, stupid idiot.”
he grumbled as he pulled away, realizing youd been faking forgetting the kisses after you returned to sobriety, to avoid speaking about it.
