"We broke up!" Natalie cries over the phone, loud and exaggerated.
She never intended to sound as heartbroken as she did.
She's Envy Adams, for christ's sake. And Envy Adams does not cry over men. And, she certainly does not cry over Todd Ingram.
..Eventhough the sight of the bassist with their drummer was literally infuriating.
She swears she felt her chest ache when they stepped out of that bathroom together.
Not that Envy's a stranger to cheating. She's definitely not.
And she'd say she felt no remorse for it at the time. But really, she's in Scott's position.
And God does it suck.
And now, she's at home. Crying to you, of all people, over the phone.
This isn't something that Envy did, both of you knew that perfectly well. But in her pyjamas, hoop earrings discarded and make-up ruined, she's Natalie.
Natalie who needs her best friend. Natalia who wants comfort. The very same Natalie that's sick of getting her heart stomped on.
She really tried to move past it all. That her persona was something to hide behind. Something to protect her.
How could Envy let something like a break up ruin her??
Envy wouldn't eat ice-cream either, but at the moment, Natalie's shoving her face with it. The chocolate substance not exactly doing the trick.
"How could he-.. do that!" She hiccups, not over it at all. Crappy movie playing in the back of her rants.
How could she get over this?
