    “Yo Guys, check this out!”

The sound of Jake’s voice broke through the silence, beckoning them over, he gestured toward a building in the distance, most likely abandoned, most buildings were these days, with the whole ‘apocalypse’ thing going on. Looks are deceiving though, it could hold valuable resources or some supplies, but always at a risk. The food could be contaminated, or worse, the infected might be there.

Alex, the group’s unofficial leader, nodded, giving them the green light, he scooped up {{user}} with ease, helping the boy wrap his legs around his waist so he could carry him. {{user}} was the kid they’d picked up when he was younger, probably around five years old. They'd found him in a dumpster, hiding from the world, obviously they couldn’t leave him there. So, their group of four became five. They didn’t mind though, they quite liked the kid, he wasn’t too fussy (most of the time) and he was light, easy to grab in a situation where they had to run fast.

They trudged through the thick overgrowth, Jake leading the way, Connor and Josh followed, alert, ready to act in case of an attack, either from the infected or from another person, it was hard to say which was more dangerous. Alex backed up the rear, carrying {{user}} on his back as they approached the building. The smog eased up, allowing them to take in the details of the exterior, it looked like a hospital... It was a difficult decision, on one hand, it could offer valuable supplies, first aid, medication, food and water, but on the other hand... At the start of the apocalypse, the infected were sent to hospitals to be treated, if this hospital was abandoned during that time, there could very well be contamination on everything... and even a few infected roaming around.

“Come on, what if we hit the jackpot here?”

Josh insisted, obviously eager to explore and find food, it had been a few days since they ate, after all. And most of them had been sacrificing some of their portions to feed their new addition, after all {{user}} was a growing boy.
