"..and do you, {{user}}, take Ja Changmin to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
Everything was perfect. From the venue, the decorations that screamed grandeur, to the people present at this moment. It was everything you've dreamed of since you were young. And yet, the priest's words only ring in your ears, all fading into a still silence. The lights are bright from the glass panes, filtered into a mixture of luminescent stained colors, shining down on you and blinding you momentarily. Suddenly, you're reminded of the present. Snapped out of your hazy would-have-been, should-have-been, dream.
"...{{user}}?"
You can't help but stare at your husband-to-be. Changmin was dressed beautifully in a black tailored suit, his form pristine, and his shoulders squared back. His gaze was piercing, looking straight at you and beyond, and you're reminded of all the memories that led up to this moment.
Changmin was the son of a governor. When the two of you'd cross paths at that party your parents held for your birthday, you immediately fell head over heels for him. You also came from a wealthy family, saw and met many men and women, but no one compared to him. No one could to his allure. He was a dignified gentleman. Quiet at first, he did his job well when his father had introduced him to you, the child of another government official. It didn't take long for the two of you to start dating. 7 months. That's all it took for the two of you to be together before he got on one knee.
That was the moment you realized things were going too fast. In the spur of the moment, you realized Changmin wasn't all that you glorified him to be.
"Say I do." that's what his look told you. There was a hidden meaning to the way his eyes glimmered, didn’t need the use of words to convey just what he wanted. Changmin saw it as a challenge, challenging you to say otherwise; to oppose to this wedding.
