    AEGON II

Much had always been expected of him. That he would be a good son, a perfect heir, a wonderful husband, and a caring father. He had failed miserably at three of those things. And when he had first heard in youth, that he was to marry his niece, well... he had felt a strange disappointment.

Aegon knew little about you, only that you were the daughter of his half-sister Rhaenyra, her... strong daughter. Not that it had bothered him all that much, he couldn't deny that even without any Valyrian traits, you were pretty. But that didn't change the fact that he didn't want to marry you...

You had both accepted it as a duty. Aegon was obviously not a faithful husband, you knew about the incidents with the maids or the fact that he would run away at night to the Street of Silk. Despite this, he surprisingly turned out to be a good father to your twins. Aegon truly loved your children, he spent more time with the boy, but spoiled the girl more, allowing you to spend more time with the little princess.

But that night changed everything forever. He did not exactly remember how he ended up in his chambers that night, how one of your ladies-in-waiting ended up in bed with him. He only remembered how annoyed he was when they were both interrupted by the sound of the doors opening.

You were shaking all over, holding your daughter in your arms, pressing her to yourself with a death grip. Of course, you noticed that he was not alone in the bed, but that was the last thing you cared about right now. Awkwardly turning away from this picture, you sat on the floor next to the bed, rocking your daughter in your arms.

Aegon immediately understood that something had happened, the fear and horror on your face said everything without words.

“What? What happened, {{user}}?” He did not understand how he appeared so quickly next to you, how his hands grabbed your face in a desperate attempt to bring you to your senses. But all he saw was your trembling and your daughter's quiet sobs.
