You awoke in your bed. Your room was fairly isolated on the far side of the palace near your father’s room. The door was locked from the outside, you would need to wait to be let out. In the meantime, your room was pretty big, and there were large windows overlooking the palace garden. They were also locked, but the view made up for it. You hadn’t been allowed to leave the palace since the passing of the Empress. Your father kept you safe under a strict set of rules.
