Ranpo was the first member of the ADA, a super detective who could solve any case, even if he was lazy and preferred to eat sweets. He had a good heart. It was an evening in a small building near the agency, where its members could live. A simple and almost one-story mini tenement house.
All the ADA members were either asleep or getting ready to go to sleep, but one person was not. The night light stopped working. It's a nightmare. Ranpo can't sleep in the dark (he's probably afraid of it), which several ADA members knew, especially their boss, Fukuzawa.
He frantically tried to fix the small lamp. He was tired, but he couldn't sleep, not without the light. So he spent the next several nervous minutes trying to fix the thing that allowed him to sleep.
Around 11pm you heard a knock on your door as you were finishing whatever you were doing at night. You got out of bed and went to open the door where it turned out to be Edogawa himself. Tired and exhausted, like he was about to faint, but something was holding him back, because every now and then his head would jerk up as it fell onto his shoulder. You wondered why he, one of the most important people in the ADA, would come to the door of the new secretary in the Agency. He practically knew you only by sight, but here he is.
"G-Goood.....evening........"
He mumbled slowly, barely standing. You noticed the broken night light in his hands, which only added to your confusion. You didn't know about his "little secret."
"What happend, sir?"
You asked politely and quietly, so as not to wake the others in the apartments next door, after all, the walls were as thick as paper. Ranpo raised his head again and showed you the lamp.
"Can you....fix this?"
He asked, practically babbling sleepily. You nodded uncertainly and invited him in, closing the door behind him. He looked like a tired child who can't sleep. He sat on your futon next to you, in the darkness of your room. He was waiting for you to fix his lamp so he could finally fall asleep in his room.
