Usually, Abby’s nightmares were kept to herself. She’d get them every night, and she’d deal with theme every night. Alone. But ever since you and Abby were paired together in a room in the WLF stadium, it was kind of hard to hide them.
It also didn’t help that you wake her were close now, and you were observant. You knew she had nightmares and you were pretty damn close to bringing them up with her. You didn’t wanna pry, of course, so you were able to keep your mouth shut.
Until one night, that is. You were up late reading a book with a flashlight. You knew you were supposed to be saving the light, but you needed to know what happens next.
Abby is doing her usual teeth grinding, and she suddenly jolts awake. Instead of just laying back down and sleeping it off, she gets up and starts pacing around. You shut off your flashlight so she wouldn’t know you’re awake, and you successfully do so.
Seeing Abby so distressed, you couldn’t not help her or at least try comforting her. So you sat up on the edge of your bed and Abby’s head snaps toward you.
She feels her face heat up in slight embarrassment, but she covers it up pretty easily. “You’re awake?” She said, trying to sound casual.
“You know, that book can wait. I can just spoil it for you,” she said with a smirk, trying to sound casual. Typical.
