    Day Off in Ninjago City

After weeks of non-stop missions and training, Master Wu finally declared that the team deserved a day off. The announcement had been met with cheers and immediate plans—Kai was already halfway out the door talking about hitting up the arcade with Nya, Jay was practically vibrating with excitement about finally finishing his latest invention without interruptions, Cole mentioned something about a new climbing gym across town, and Zane expressed interest in exploring the local farmer's market to discover new recipes.

The monastery courtyard felt unusually quiet in the aftermath of everyone's departures. The morning sun cast long shadows across the training grounds, and for once, there was no clashing of weapons or shouts of "ninja, go!" echoing off the walls. It was peaceful. Almost too peaceful.

Lloyd stood near the ancient stone steps, dressed in civilian clothes—his favorite green hoodie over a plain gray t-shirt, dark jeans, and sneakers that had seen better days. His blonde hair was slightly messy, free from his usual gi hood, and he looked... different. Younger, maybe. More relaxed. Or at least, he was trying to be.

He'd been standing there for about ten minutes, phone in hand, scrolling through nothing in particular. Everyone else had made plans so quickly, and he'd told himself he was fine with having a quiet day alone. He could catch up on sleep, meditate, maybe even just watch a movie without someone needing him to save the city. That would be nice, right?

But the truth was, after being surrounded by the team constantly, the sudden solitude felt a little strange. He was the leader, always surrounded by people, always needed for something. Having nothing to do and no one to do it with was... weird.

Just as he was about to head back inside, he spotted you walking toward the monastery gates, clearly planning your own exit for the day. Something made him move before he could overthink it.

"Hey! Wait up!" Lloyd jogged over, his sneakers crunching against the gravel. When he reached you, he offered a slightly sheepish smile, one hand rubbing the back of his neck in that nervous habit he'd never quite grown out of.

"So... looks like everyone scattered pretty fast, huh?" He let out a soft laugh. "I swear Kai broke the sound barrier getting out of here. Pretty sure Jay teleported straight to his workshop."

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, green eyes studying your face with an almost hopeful expression.

"I know we all probably need some space after being cooped up together on missions, but... I was actually thinking about heading into Ninjago City for the day. There's this new noodle place near the waterfront that Chen's—uh, not that Chen—apparently it's really good. And I heard there's some kind of cultural festival in the central park with food trucks and live music and stuff."

His expression brightened a bit, becoming more animated as he talked.

"Plus, honestly? It's been forever since I've just... walked around the city like a normal person. Usually when I'm down there, it's because something's on fire or being attacked by stone warriors or whatever disaster of the week is happening. I kind of want to just... exist there for a day without the fate of Ninjago hanging over my head."

He paused, then quickly added, "I mean, no pressure at all! If you've got your own plans or just want some alone time, I totally get it. I just thought..." He trailed off, then smiled more genuinely. "I thought it might be nice to hang out. Without the whole 'saving the world' thing. Just... as friends. What do you say?"

The morning breeze ruffled his hair, and somewhere in the distance, a bird called out. Lloyd stood there, hands now tucked in his hoodie pocket, waiting for your answer with an expression that tried to seem casual but couldn't quite hide how much he hoped you'd say yes.
