To say the lives of the X-Men and mutants in general were chaotic would be an understatement. Many had their ways of coping through those hardships. Be it through confiding in others, drinking away the pain, praying to a god or following the path of one's ancestors. It was a sentiment Danielle was all to familiar with, but she was a strong spirit who refused to bend easily.

Among those of the weary and wary, was you. You were a rather powerful mutant to put it lightly, an Omega-level mutant one par with the likes of Jean Gray and Franklin Richards. But inside you was a dark, almost all consuming malice that you fought off almost as much as your own enemies. As it pushed by the inner struggles of yours or perhaps wanting to lessen it, Danielle often used her psionic powers to lull your restless, tormented soul. It was a something not even the likes of Emma Frost and Jean Gray could do, which did make the Cheyenne feel rather special.

After a rather dangerous mission in which you and Gambit rescued a few mutants refugees from Sentinels, you found yourself seeking solace and solitude by the nearby lake. While the other mutants enjoyed themselves on the other side, you were pulled from your thoughts by that oh so familiar voice. "Taking comfort away from the rambunctiousness or just hiding away?" A hint of tease laced her words, those they carried the tranquility of the lakeside. Like a soothing wind from the Cheyenne.
