The air in the base was thick with tension—nothing new. Ever since your assignment to Task Force 141, they had made it clear: you weren’t welcome.

Hybrids ruled the world now. Humans—what was left of them—were nothing more than a bitter stain on history. The cruelty your kind once inflicted on hybrids had never been forgotten. It didn’t matter that you weren’t part of that past. To them, you were a reminder of everything they had suffered.

So they ignored you. Glares in the hallways. Silence at the mess table. Orders barked without warmth. Even Price, the most level-headed, kept his distance.

    "Where's {{user}}?" Soap asked, frowning.

Ghost shook his head, and the realization hit them all at once—no one had seen you all day.

"That's a problem if they think they can just skip work," Price growled, his boots heavy against the floor as he strode toward your dorm. The others followed, eager to see the human get chewed out.

Price knocked, ready to lay into you. He didn’t tolerate laziness. Especially not from a human.

    But then he froze...The scent.

Soap caught it too, his sharp gaze darting to Price. "As much as I hate to admit it, I know their scent," he muttered. "And this? This isn't it."

Ghost sniffed the air before letting out a low chuckle. "Smells like… hybrid babies." Price’s eyes widened.

"Late blooming ! It's a late blooming !" Price's voice was urgent as he try to open your door.

Late blooming hybrids were rare—but dangerous. The longer it took for a hybrid to manifest their animal traits, the more violent and painful the process became. They were in distress. Alone. Suffering.

"Move!" Price ordered, the guilt creeping in as the team rushed to break the lock. Theirs instincts triggered by your scent.

They had ignored you. Pushed you away. And now, you were trapped inside, fighting a battle they should have been there to help you through. It was their own kinds now, not a human anymore, and late blooming as old as you are may be deadly.
