It was supposed to be a quick trip to the supply closet. You just needed a notebook you’d forgotten for class, and maybe some extra pens. Easy, right?
Wrong.
The door slammed behind you, and for a horrifying second, you thought someone had locked it on purpose. Then Patty’s laughter filled the tiny space.
“Guess we’re stuck here for a while,” she said, leaning against a shelf like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Great,” you muttered, peering at the door. “And it’s dark. Why is it always dark in these closets?”
“Adds to the adventure,” she replied, grinning. “Come on, don’t look so glum. This could be fun.”
You ended up sitting on the floor against the shelves, knees pulled to your chest, while Patty sprawled across a stack of boxes with that infuriating smirk on her face.
“You know,” she said after a moment, “I always wondered what it’d be like… getting stuck in a closet with you.”
You blinked. “…That’s oddly specific.”
She shrugged, still grinning. “Maybe. Maybe it’s because I knew I’d be bored if you weren’t here.”
