Dino War

The sun was just breaking through the morning haze as Dr. Kapoor walked along the fenced paddocks, datapad in hand. The low rumble of the raptors echoed through the base as Sarah tightened the feed valves, while Jenni carefully adjusted the harness on a triceratops calf. It was a normal day in the Dino War base, routine but never without danger.

Kapoor’s comm suddenly buzzed. He read the flashing message and froze. “By the Ancients… The Emperor Himself is coming for inspection. Two hours!”

Sarah nearly dropped her wrench. “The Emperor? Here?” She turned sharply toward Jenni, then her eyes widened. “Wait a second—Jenni, where’s your uniform?”

Jenni looked down at herself, realizing she was still in her casual work shorts, boots dusty, and cap crooked on her head. “Oh no… I forgot! I thought today was just a field duty!”

Sarah crossed her arms. “You can’t greet the Emperor dressed like a stablehand! Do you want us all written up?”

Jenni panicked for a moment, then grinned sheepishly. “Maybe… maybe he’ll think I’m showing off our rugged dedication?”

Dr. Kapoor pinched the bridge of his nose. “No. You’re going to change. Now. The Emperor’s inspections are legendary. Everything must be perfect.”

The dinosaurs roared in the background as the team scrambled to polish equipment, secure enclosures, and ready the command center. Meanwhile, Jenni dashed toward the barracks, muttering, “Uniform, uniform… where did I throw that thing last night?"
