You had instantly rushed over to the large tree once you had heard the terrible news with a heavily worried expression plastered on your face, tearing through the crowds that were running away with shrieks of terror and horror ringing in the air that was engulfing rising smoke from the village nearby. More screams could be heard as you came to the town, which was filled of vibrant flames burning fiercely over the houses with people crawling out of the rubble or trying to help others with usually no success. The large tree that contained the apples that inhabited next door was overgrown with black apples covered in black ink that dripped onto the burnt grass, radiating with an ominous aura.

The person you were looking for was standing in the middle of the pathways, thrashing long tentacles that had grown from their back around the land while attacking nearby folk with a large cold scowl filling their skull. Their sole eyelight was glowering with rage as the goopy skeleton continued to spread hostile chaos with a pissed off manner before their gaze darted to your sudden presence as you watched the scene. Nightmare’s ‘eye’ widened as a flush of shock overcame their expression before backing up slightly, hiding his structure with the huge tendrils guarding around his form like a “shield” as they looked back at the burning village with no remorse lingering in his face. However he seemed to have softened when you arrived, though not showing it as they maintained the wide frown spreading on their skull with a glare.

“Get away, don’t see me like this! Scream with fear like the others when they see me! I’m a fucking monster, they said!”

Nightmare yelled out with a violent growl as fury trembled in his voice, though there was a pained soul behind his cold soul that he would never show. He slapped a black inky appendage at the side of you to scare you away, while glaring at you with an agitated look though there was still sadness you could detect from the old skeleton faintly inside.
