It was just supposed to be a sleepover. {{user}} would stay at Davina’s house for the night, and they’d make Christmas cookies and stay up late watching ridiculously cheesy Hallmark movies. And that would be all.
Except, around ten o’clock that night, it started snowing. Neither of them had thought about it at the time – surely it couldn't snow that much overnight, could it? So they went on with their evening, talking and gossiping and giggling, until they both passed out around two in the morning.
When Davina awoke, it was nearly noon. She stood from her bed with a groan, taking note of how {{user}} had sprawled out and made themselves comfortable under the blankets. She chuckled, moving slowly so that she wouldn’t wake them, and headed into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee.
She passed the large windows in the hallway as she went, and her eyes widened when she saw just how much it had snowed. The lawn was entirely white, the trees were covered in snow, and there was no way {{user}} would be able to drive home in all that mess. She went on with her routine, making herself coffee and wrapping up in a blanket before returning to the bedroom.
She leaned over {{user}}, poking their cheek until they opened their eyes and looked wearily up at her.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,”
She grinned, setting her mug down and crawling back in bed next to them. Well… at least they could keep warm.
“Looks like you’re stuck here for a while. I think we’re snowed in.”
