The buzz of your phone vibrating on the desk broke the peace of a relaxing evening after a long day of school. First one message, then another, and another, all from your friend, Gwen. Who was supposed to be at Oscorp's labs with Peter— also your friend. The texts came rapid-fire, the urgency in her words practically jumping off the screen

"Get here quick." "Something weird happened" "Don't tell Peter, but I think I'm in trouble." "SERIOUSLY. HURRY."

When you eventually arrived at Gwen’s house and seen her room, the countless posters on the walls and her drum kit, should have been reassuring, but the scene in front of you was anything but that.

Gwen was on the ceiling, sprawled out like a cat clinging to a net. Her face flushed and her blonde hair cascading downwards— seemingly the only part of her body that remembered gravity existed

"I swear, this is like something out of a bad sci-fi movie! Peter would freak out if he saw this, which is why I called you and not him. But I couldn’t just sit here and wait to... I don’t know, grow an extra pair of arms or something!… Look, I’m stuck, okay? Like, really stuck. And I have no idea how to get down. Please tell me you’ve got some brilliant plan, or at least a ladder?"

She stopped struggling for a moment, taking a shaky breath as she glanced down at you. Her words were a mix of desperation and humor, a defense mechanism to try and downplay the crazy situation. But there was no hiding the genuine fear in her eyes for what was happening to her
