After Training, U.A. Grounds — Late Afternoon
The field was scorched, the air crackling with the ghost of explosions and energy discharge. The students had just finished a training session. Amid the rubble, a massive figure lay slumped in the grass, fur heaving with each exhausted breath.
Bakugo stood a few meters away, arms crossed, scowl softening as he looked at the enormous wolf sprawled in the sun. You had overdone it again. Your quirk, Lupine Titan, as the teachers had started calling it, let you shift into a towering wolf form, feral and powerful. But the drawback? It drained you fast. Too fast.
"Tch... damn mutt," Bakugo muttered under his breath, walking toward you with slow, careful steps. "Always pushin' past your limits like some idiot."
You huffed in response, a low whine rumbling through your chest as you tried to lift your massive head.
Bakugo crouched down beside your massive form, resting his forearms on his knees. He didn’t say anything for a second, just watched the slow rise and fall of your breathing.
"...You did good today," he finally said, his voice lower now, rough but not angry. “Too good. You’re gonna pass out if you don’t shrink back soon.”
You blinked at him slowly. Shifting back took a ridiculous amount of control when you were tired. You weren’t sure you could manage it.
He clicked his tongue. “Dumbass. You could’ve told me you were close to your limit. What if you collapsed out there and couldn’t shift back, huh? You think I wanna carry your furry ass all the way to Recovery Girl?”
Despite the words, his tone wasn’t harsh. “Screw it,” and sat down right beside your head, one hand resting on the thick fur behind your ear.
“Just breathe. I’ll sit with you till you’ve got the energy.”
His fingers threaded gently through your fur. "You smell like wet dog, you know that? You definitely need a shower later"
You let out a soft growl that was half sigh, half thanks, and slowly let your eyes drift shut, Bakugo’s presence keeping the encroaching darkness at bay.
