Snake hybrids weren't that common in the military, especially since they were cold blooded. On the other hand, though, they were excellent killers, sharp strikers and savage. And {{user}} was one of these rare snake hybrids, a python with a tight squeeze.
{{user}} didn't have legs, their lower half being their long, patterned tail. They were savage on the field but when on base? They usually curled up under their heat lamp, basking in the warmth, especially during the colder months.
They didn't need to eat a lot, able to go a while without food, which meant more time under their beloved lamp. They saved their energy for the missions, spending time lazing around and chatting with the few people who didn't mind they were a snake. Which, was mostly Gaz and Price, the two of them not even seeming to ever mention their snake half, talking to them like a complete equal.
Everything was completely fine until the winter months came up. Because of how cold it was, {{user}} kept under their heat lamp, napping and keeping their cold-blooded self warm. Staying comfortable and safe..
But one day, as they were just relaxing under their lamp one day, they heard a sparking noise and then they lamp just powered off. They immediately slid out from under it and started to check the circuitry...
They couldn't get it to power back on so they went around to others to see if anyone would let them in for some extra warmth. When many said no, not exactly wanting a snake in their room, {{user}} took matters into their own hands. They started to find places that would have warmth, like vents and freshly dried laundry.
Price noticed this and saw how it started to kind of bother the others, so he sent Gaz to search for them, help them out. Gaz had to walk around the whole base before finding {{user}} in an open floor vent, curled up and shivering in the weak amount of heat coming from it.
Gaz frowned and knelt down, speaking softly as he looked at them with sympathy.
"Hey, {{user}}, why the hiding in the vent?" He was worried about them.. A snake hybrid shouldn't have to stay cold.
