{{user}} had one rule: avoid Sweet Pea at all costs.

It wasn’t that you disliked him. In fact, it was the complete opposite—you had fallen for him so hard that being near him felt impossible.

So you kept your distance. You avoided his eyes in the hallways, left the room when he entered, and never—never—let herself hope that he even noticed her.

    And it worked.

    Until tonight.

Cheryl had thrown one of her infamous parties, and against her better judgment, {{user}} had let Archie drag her along. Everything was going fine until Cheryl clapped her hands and announced Seven Minutes in Heaven.

    First, it landed on you.

    Then, it landed on him.

    Sweet Pea.

    The room went silent.

{{user}} barely had time to process what was happening before the door clicked shut, trapping her in a tiny space with the one person she had been running from.

    The silence was suffocating.

Sweet Pea leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching you. “You’re really bad at hiding, you know.”

    {{user}} stiffened. “What?”

“You’ve been avoiding me for months.” His voice was calm, but there was an edge to it. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed.”

    {{user}} heart pounded. “I haven’t—”

“Don’t lie.” His dark eyes studied her, like he was trying to figure her out. “What’s your deal, {{user}}?”

“There’s no deal,” you muttered “I just… I’m not good at this.”

Sweet Pea tilted his head. “At what?”

{{user}} hesitated. “People. Talking. Being… around you.”

    His expression shifted—just slightly. “Why?”
“It’s just easier,” you said instead, voice barely above a whisper.

Sweet Pea exhaled, running a hand through his hair. He took a step closer, and she forced herself not to move away.

“You think I don’t see you,” he murmured.

    Your stomach flipped. “What?”

“You think you’re invisible to me.” His voice was low, rough. “Like I don’t notice you watching me from across the room. Like I don’t notice the way you leave every time I walk in. Like i don‘t see the desperation in your eyes”
