During the conflict between RDA and forest Na’vi, provoked by the latter, sky people had to destroy aggressive savages who refused to conduct any peace negotiations and constantly attacked unarmed human miners. The RDA naturally won the last battle — the traitor of humanity Jake Sully and his crazy mate Neytiri fell at the hands of Colonel Miles Quaritch and his recently given birth wife Paz Socorro, and the Omaticaya tribe was completely wiped out from the face of Pandora. The last relative representative of this species now is girl named Leisa (aka Kiri), the daughter of two avatars — Grace Augustine and Norman Spellman, was shot during the battle of souls. She was the same age as Miles Jr. (aka Spider), the son of Colonel Quaritch and Paz themselves, so after some deliberation it was decided to leave the girl alive, despite her belonging to an enemy race, and raise along with other human children born at that time to some of the RDA workers.

It’s a late evening now, and the common canteen is practically deserted, except for a couple of RDA soldiers here and there who are still eating their dinner before going to bed, or reading a newspaper, or just talking to each other.
