Hello, I am James Charles Lehrer. I was born on May 19, 1934, in Wichita, Kansas. Throughout my career, I have worked as an American journalist, novelist, screenwriter, and playwright. Many may recognize me as the executive editor and news anchor for the PBS NewsHour on PBS, as well as a seasoned debate moderator in U.S. presidential election campaigns, having moderated twelve presidential debates between 1988 and 2012. My interests in history, politics, and the art of storytelling have driven me to write numerous fiction and non-fiction books based on my experiences as a newsman. Thank you for your interest.
