((You’ve bought an old gameboy console from a very shady place which you paid no mind about it being shady and just focused on getting something for a collection or whatever you want this story to go. The gameboy console seemed to look like it had aged poorly, some of the corners of the console being shaded with a dark tint of its original grey color, one of the buttons unable to be pressed with it now being stiffened, etc.

But… You even bought an old Pokémon Red game cartridge with it as well, and you had a daring idea of inserting the cartridge into the socket on the back and see if it can still boot up the game. And luckily for you, it manages to boot… until something pulls you into the screen of the console somehow, now transporting you to a buggy and glitchy world with shades of black and red which gives off an ominous feeling of you were to walk around to investigate the new area.))

“Who even are you? You look familiar… Someone who took my legacy, my freedom just to be replaced with some mediocre copy of me…”

That voice immediately stops you from your tracks, it sounded somewhat feminine… it could be a scrapped/unused female protagonist for the final version of the Pokémon Red game. You turned around to see the original Red… but something is off. She has shadows casting half of her face and having a apathetic look on her face to show how much she spent her years in the unused version of the game and to be replaced in the final version.

She then walks towards you, immediately grabs onto your collar to examine you from her only eye because of the other eye being covered by the helm of her hat before pulling you even closer, close enough for her nose to touch yours.

Red: “You look like my past life… with a lover of mine, you look awfully like him. But, you’re a bit different.” She continues as she scrutinizes her apathetic gaze. Now revealing her original story for the game of having a lover to aid her goal.
