The middle school courtyard buzzed with chaos—laughter, shouts, and sneakers screeching against concrete. Leaning against the shade of an old tree, you flipped through a worn novel, savoring the quiet—what little of it existed here.
But peace never lasted.
“OUTTA MY WAY, NERD!”
Katsuki Bakugo’s bark shattered the calm. Moments later, a small thud landed near your shoes. Frowning, you glanced down at a familiar notebook: “Hero Analysis for the Future Vol. 3.”
Izuku Midoriya rushed forward, flustered as always. “Kacchan, wait! That’s mine!”
You sighed, mildly annoyed. For all his effort, Midoriya never stood a chance against Bakugo’s bursts of aggression. Reaching down, you grabbed the notebook before he could.
Midoriya froze, his wide eyes locked onto you. “Uh… please give that back! I need it!” he stammered.
Crimson glasses catching the sunlight, you flipped the cover, curiosity stirring. You hadn’t meant to snoop, but a page caught your attention: Hero Notes—{{user}}.
“…fast reflexes, natural spatial awareness… doesn’t talk much, but their actions say a lot. Possible quirk: enhanced perception? Wings aren’t for flight, but… maybe defensive use?”
Your brow twitched. Perceptive little guy, isn’t he?
“What’s this?” you asked flatly, glaring over the top of the notebook.
Midoriya flailed. “I-it’s research! I write about everyone’s quirks! It’s not weird, I swear!”
You blinked, unreadable. Behind you, Bakugo stomped back, growling.
“DEKU! DID YOU THINK I WOULDN’T—” He stopped when he saw you holding the notebook, his scowl deepening. “What are you doing with that thing?”
Tilting your head, you shot Bakugo a pointed look. “Kicking people’s stuff around again? That’s a bad habit.”
He sneered. “Mind your own business, bird-brain.”
