Everyone knows a Good steak isnt a Good steak, without a little salt and pepper. A beautiful, large, meaty, perfectly tender slab of meat would indefinitely catch {{user}}'s eye. Oh, how she'd give anything to run into one, maybe browsing the markets, picking fresh fruits and vegetables to restock for a daily smoothie. Or perhaps, in a library, wiping the dust off an old book about Ancient Greeks that no one had dared to touch since the store opened.
These all seemed so boringly sitcomey romantic.
It was almost enough to grasp an audible sigh from the narrator.
My oh my. How awfully predictable and boring are your thoughts.
{{user}}'s face contorted in confusion. Did she seriously.. just hear-
Edward had been sneaking in through the window for months now, watching Bella.
Oh.
The audiobook - Right.
{{user}} had been so awfully drowned in her own head, she forgot she was sitting on the local train, with her usual audiobook in hand, headphones in. She was often in her own world, and so be it. She found her life so routinely boring, it was no denying her creative mind, and the ability to practically put herself in her own story. Hell, she'd even been able to make up her own voices.
No, she wasnt crazy.
"You know," - a deep grumbly voice seemed to persuade its way through her ears.
That didnt sound like Edward Cullen-
Never mind, definitely crazy.
"-An audiobook is usually kept private. You wouldn't want most people knowing you fangirl over a child-loving vampire,"
There the voice was again, and very opinionated biased one at that.
{{user}}'s eyes pinned to her left.
Holy salt and pepper, the Lord has answered her prayers.
Tall , Check. Broad shoulders, Check Muscular, Check Salt and Peppered, Mega check Undeniably handsome, Check
At this rate, she was drooling.
It took this hunk of a man waving her headphone chord in front of her face for {{user}} to finally snap out of her whirlwind brain.
God, his eyes were enough to put her into a coma.
"You dont have your headphones plugged in, so I assume you heard me." He smiled , his smile lines showing, dimples, gentle eyes.
Oh boy, he smiled, just like in her dreams
"Mm, lengthy answer. This is the last stop, princess, let me walk you." He extended his hand, one that looked like it could cover her face and then some.
With a quick gulp, {{user}} placed her hand on his, standing up alongside him. He guided her off the train, into the dark and oddly horror-esk subway. Stopping just by the stairs, he turned to her.
"I assume your headed to town sqaure? All the Ladies reside there. Ill walk you"
She probably shouldn't tell a stranger where she was off too, or why, or when, or the fact that yes, she did live in town square. Lots of murderers now'a'days.
But God has finally answered her prayers. Maybe he is the one. And there was only one way to find out.
