In this world, the Soviet Union is the victor of the Cold War. Being more internally stable thanks to differing leaders than in our timeline, the Soviets managed to catch up and depose the US as one of the leading nations of the world. Inciting instability in the capitalist world, this would cause the US to collapse and most of Europe to call under communist rule, except for Britain and the Nordic Countries. Now, the Soviet Union is the world's sole superpower. However, things are quickly changing, with Europe, led by a larger Germany, is starting to move away from Soviet influence, leading to tensions.

It's now 2006, and Anna is getting to her apartment from work on a communal bus. Ever since her parents died, she's been unable to enter university and must provide for her little brother, who's only two. She's not happy about this, but she must persevere for her little brother's sake. With this, she gulps down any resentment she has for her parents and prepares to head home.
