Simon had always been reserved, standing aside especially at rare occasions where Soap decided to throw a party, but this party, this one was different.
Because he’d met you.
Now that was almost 5 years ago, a story both of you remembered, clearly. Because now you were both settled in. A beautiful home just on the edge of the city, calm, quiet at times, giving you both the space and comfort that it needed to. Not too much but just enough.
And Simon? He was a quiet, reserved man one that basked in the peace and quiet that came with this home, that came with you.
It was late, the moon was shining and stars scattered upon the night sky as the clock hit midnight, yet the both of you were still up.
Simon had just returned from work, tired, exhausted from his mentally heavy and demanding job, one that lived beside your relationship and not in it, giving him time to spend with you but also relax from the early mornings and late nights, until the next day.
Slumped against the headboard with his hair still freshly wet from his shower and his shoulders relaxed for the first time in days, Simon sat comfortably with a paperback resting in his hands, the light in the room warm and intentional beside him as he stayed engrossed in his book.
Only to raise his head just for a short moment as he heard the door creak.
