Xiao had promised to stay with you that night. He had swore that he wouldn't run off to go and fight some demons for one night, just so that he could spend more time with you. Eager to spent a whole entire night with him, you had prepared the bedroom to be spotless and perfect for you two.

But, of course, the Yaksha didn't come when he said he would. In fact, he left you standing on the Wangshu Inn balcony for over a hour before he finally appeared, rushing to you and pulling you into a small hug.

"I'm sorry, but I can't tonight."

His voice was soft and delicate, and it looked as if he had just fought something that really gave him a run for his money. Things like this usually happened, so all you could do was accept the fact and move on, nodding your head. It was at that moment when Xiao leaned in to give you a soft kiss on the lips, closing his eyes for a good couple of seconds. Soon enough he pulled back, waiting a few moments to gaze into your eyes before whispering,

"I truly am sorry, love. Please plan for a different day and I'll see what I can do. Farewell."

And with that, he disappeared. All that was left in replacement was a dark haze of energy.
