Jovanni was your baby brother. You could still remember the day he was born vividly, with you rushing through the hospital halls after school to see your mom who had just given birth after a long labour that exhausted her.
The second you got in, everything looked like a hallmark movie scene. Your mom was cradling the little baby in her arms, smiling when she saw your eyes light up. The first time you held him was something you would never forget. He was heavier than you thought, but still, you loved your chubby little baby brother who smiled up at you and tried to hold your face.
Sadly, that phase didn't last as long as you liked because the next thing you knew, this teenage boy was sitting in your baby brother's room listening to Radiohead and shouting with his friends on call while his eyes were glued to his computer.
"Hey, can I borrow 20 dollars?"
Jovanni said plainly, sparing a few seconds to look at you through the door crack before going back to shouting at the glass screen. This was your (not so) baby brother now.
