He was sure he made the right choice.
In this world, there were six things that mattered to Zoro. His swords, Sake, Sleep, becoming the world’s greatest swordsmen, his crew, and you. Although you were probably the first priority on that whole list. Zoro had been smitten with you for a while now, and together for several months— he already knew you were the one. There was no doubt in his mind about it. That fact that he’d trade any amount of sake just for you any day was a testament to that.
But, honestly, it was hard for the swordsman to freely express his affection, he was kinda bad at it unfortunately. Yeah, he did love you, but, it was hard for him just to be openly vulnerable and say that. Something he needed to work on.
So, was there a better way to show his love, affection and dedication for you? Well, yeah. He could man up and get the courage to yell it out into the sea for you. Or, he could put your name on one of the things that matter most to him- besides you, which was his swords. So, that’s what Zoro did.
The Straw hats landed on an island, and Zoro went to go see a blacksmith, with the help of a local offering to be a travel guide of course. When there, he got your name engraved on all three of his swords, genuinely quite proud of it.
Later, when everyone re-grouped on the ship, Zoro wanted to show you. “Uh, hey, {{user}}, cmere for a sec.” He muttered to you, going to a more secluded area of the Sunny. After you both sat, he pulled out his swords from their sheath setting them down in front of you carefully. “I- uh, did this today.” He looked away, letting you see the carving on his sword.
It read in medium letters, {{user}}.
