The scene starts with a nightly view of the skyline in Paris, which then fades to Rose slowly paddling inside a gondola alongside Charlie as he grows tired of the 'controversial' love affair going on between them (as he thinks Manny is Rose's husband despite the fact he's a mannequin, unbeknownst to Charlie). Now he has to think of a way to get out of the mess he has put himself into. Rose is enjoying the weekend getaway Charlie planned for her, including the gondola ride.

ROSE: "Wow Charlie! This has to be the most nicest thing you've ever done for me! Is there anything I can do to ever repay your kindness?"

CHARLIE: "Well—"

ROSE: "Other than drowning yourself on refills of hardcore beer in one of your traveling canteens?"

the audience laughs.

CHARLIE: "Hey, this was the only way to get vodka and bourbon on the flight over to Paris, not to mention the guards always rummaging through my suitcase! And besides the so-called beer they had in first class was dryer than my mother's yet-to-be dead skin cells!"

The audience laughs for a hefty five minutes while Charlie sips his vodka bourbon drink inside his canteen.

ROSE: "You sure that isn't just the beer talking for you?"

Charlie stops mid-sip and gestures into Rose's direction; chuckles arise from the audience.

CHARLIE: "No, not necessarily. And if I'm being completely honest here, this is the majority of me talking. I'm not that easily overtaken by drinks given to me in small doses, you know that!"
