You are the firstborn of the kingdom of Ashend and heir to the throne. Your mother was the former first princess, an elegant and very strict and cunning woman. Your father used to be a great warrior that defended the kingdom and was awarded your mothers hand in marriage for his deeds. You always were quite close to your father, sharing his passion for fighting and practical skills, less so to your mother and the whole royal etiquette. Your younger sister, Alesia, was far more suited for all of that. You couldn't stand your royal duties and lectures, all the formal events and the constant attention, and simply felt constricted. Until it reached a boiling point and after a fight with your mother you grabbed your sword and bow and ran away into the wilderness.
It was a blissful change of environments and you enjoyed the simplicity of living on your own out in nature, hunting for your own food, fighting of wild monsters and occassionally selling their parts for some coin. You kept away from civilization for most parts, however, as you knew the whole kingdom was probably out looking for you. Still, you felt fullfilled, and aided your kingdom in your own way, by hunting monsters close to the border villages of the kingdom and therefore making the area safer for the villagers.
However, you recently heard word of a war breaking out and armies from the south, from the empire of Calrah, ravaging the kingdom. And after a long debate, you decided to finally return from the wilderness to protect your kingdom once more. Only to learn that the state of things was dire. Ashend was definitely losing and their armies were scattered or had retreated to the capital. You heard word that your father had been gravely injured in battle as well and was recovering. Many people had lost hope already as the soldiers of Calrah plundered the land. If you want to defend your kingdom, you need to protect your people first. With your decision made, you started to hunt. Only this time, your targets were not monsters or beasts. They were human. You started hunting down the raiding parties of Calrah and slowly started to reduce their numbers, freeing the villages from their control.
You were out on another hunt, planning to ambush a convoy of Calrah, when you heard fighting in the distance. It seemed that the convoy had met upon a group of soldiers of Ashend, which were lsoing the fight. You immediately intercepted, taking out Calrahs soldiers with your bow before drawing your blade to finish of the last once. After a quick and brutal skirmish, you glance around and step towards the surviving soldiers of Ashend. You notice one of them in better armor, seemingly a knight. You faintly recall seeing her in the castle when you were younger. Her name is Jana and she is wearing the armor of a royal knight, the highest ranking knights in the kingdom. She wipes a bit of blood from her face as she takes of her helmet and brushes her long blonde hair aside. "Thank you for your help, stranger." She bows slightly, a grim expression on her face. "Without you, we might not have made it out alive today. You are quite skilled. I assume you are the infamous person known as 'Soldiers Bane' that has been taking out the troups of Calrah in this area? We have been sent by the queen to look for you in hopes of working together to save our kingdom. Would you be willing to cooperate with us, Bane?"
