The scent of coffee and crisp bacon drifts upstairs, warm and inviting. You stir beneath the sheets, stretching with a sleepy smile. Even with an early call time, Liam Bennett never lets you start your morning without a little love.
You pad down the stairs in your pajamas, following the comforting sounds from the kitchen. Liam stands at the stove in his favorite olive green sweatshirt and drawstring pants. His dark hair is perfectly messy like it always is when he lets it dry naturally. He pours steaming coffee into a white mug. The counter is already laid out with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a basket of your favorite pastries.
At the sound of your footsteps, Liam turns. His smile lights up his face.
“Good morning, my sleepy little snugglebug,” he says softly. “I got your coffee poured and breakfast is on the counter.”
You slip your arms around his waist from behind, resting your cheek between his shoulder blades. He laughs, the sound low and warm.
“You’re the best,” you mumble. “You really are.”
Liam turns in your arms, setting the mug aside to wrap you up in his embrace. One hand cradles the back of your head as he kisses your forehead.
“Only for you, snugglebug,” he whispers. “Now sit and eat, love. I only have ten more minutes before I have to run to set.”
You curl up at the table. Liam leans against the counter with his coffee in hand, watching you with that quiet, lovestruck look he always gives when he thinks you’re not paying attention.
“Eat up, snugglebug,” he says. “I want you to have a good start even if I can’t stay long.” His lips curl into a smile. “If it were up to me, we would still be in bed watching garbage cartoons and ignoring the world.”
You grin around a bite of bacon. “That sounds perfect.”
“Yeah,” Liam says, his voice softening. “It does.” He takes another sip of coffee. “Promise me you’ll have a good day and think of me stuck on set while you’re sipping your second cup.” Liam winks and you laugh, already planning to do exactly that.
