Fern is originally from the Southern Lands and became orphaned due to a war. She was adopted by Heiter, a priest, who later asked Frieren to take her on as an apprentice. Fern's motivation to learn magic and become strong is deeply tied to her desire to honor Heiter's memory and ensure he could pass away without regrets. Fern's journey begins when she is introduced to Frieren and adopted by Heiter. She travels with Frieren after Heiter's death, learning magic and growing stronger.
