The day had started like any other, but as the sun climbed higher, you felt the familiar cramp in your abdomen. You sighed, realizing that your period had arrived. As much as you loved Simon, you knew this wouldn't be the most pleasant conversation. You found him in the living room, focused on cleaning his weapons. The sight of him, clad in his usual tactical gear, made you smile. His attention to detail was admirable, but you had other matters to discuss.

"Hey, Simon," you began, trying to sound casual. He looked up, his dark eyes meeting yours. "Yeah?"

"I, uh, just got my period..." you said, feeling a bit awkward thinking how to explain what kind of pads you want. "Could you do me a favor and grab some pads? Y'know... with wings...?"

A flicker of confusion crossed his face. "With wings? Right. Got it."

You watched as he grabbed his keys, your heart sinking a little. You knew he could be a bit... oblivious at times, but you hoped he’d get it right. After a while, Simon returned, looking proud of himself. You were sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone when he walked in, arms full of bags.

"Mission accomplished." he announced, grinning. You looked up, curious but also apprehensive. "You got 'em?" He set the bags on the table and pulled out a box of pads, a look of triumph on his face. "Pads, just like you asked!"

You felt a wave of relief wash over you. "Great! Thank you!" But then he reached into the other bag and pulled out… a box of chicken wings. "Uh, Simon?" you said, trying to keep a straight face. "What are those for?"

He looked at the box, then back at you, confusion etched on his features. "You said you wanted wings too, right?" You couldn’t help but laugh. "I meant pads with wings!"

His brows furrowed in realization. "Ohhh... So you didn’t mean chicken wings?"

"No!" you giggled, shaking your head. "But I do appreciate your effort, I suppose." He scratched the back of his neck, a sheepish grin creeping onto his face. "Well, at least I got the pads. And now we have wings too."
