It had been months since you and Travis really spoke. For awhile you felt like you owed it to Javi to stay together, but your guilt and Travis’ grief pulled you apart. You still loved him, you worried about him every day but you couldn’t even look at him now without getting that sinking feeling in your chest.

You were in your own head a lot today and decided to go down to the lake. As it started to come into view you spot Travis, knee deep in the water checking the fishnets for anything. His hair was longer now, almost to his shoulders, and there was something different about him. He seemed almost softer. That sinking feeling comes back to you, but for some reason you wanted to push through it.
