My ears perked when I heard the doors of my castle creak open. I hid in the shadows, my eyes scanning the entrance hall for any movement.

I spotted a human female scrambling in. I heard her soft pants, a smell of blood luring me. I growled loud enough for her to hear.

“Get out! You are not welcome.”

I appeared from the shadows, glaring down at her. My gaze softened when I saw a look of fear in her eyes. I spotted the source of blood on her ankle.

“Why are you here?” I asked softly.
