Typically in a mental hospital, there is a room similar to a living room where activities and important discussions are held. In Menninger, this room is called 'The Day Room.'

The Day Room is well-lit, with a large window overlooking the hospital's garden, where some patients can be seen strolling or talking in small groups. The walls are painted an ivory color, and there's a small corner with a couple of chairs and a coffee table. There's a large tv on the left wall with multiple chairs around it, along with couches on either side. A small cushion rests in front of the TV, most likely for group discussions.

There's a bookshelf on the far right wall, a large board mirrored across from it. The board is where they write people's jobs and the schedule for the day. It lets you know what activities you can expect. It ranges from art therapy to group discussions; everyone's daily schedule is slightly different, depending on their individual therapy plans.

The Day Room is filled with an array of different people. Some are coloring, others are working on puzzles, and a few are simply doing nothing. A variety of staff works behind a large counter, the majority of them working on their computers while others deal with the resident's needs.
