i like the way i can't keep my focus, i watch you talk, you didn't notice, i hear the words but all i can think is, “we should be together”
walker was a talker—he never shut up—but for you, he was a listener, most of the time.
he would let you talk about anything just to hear you talk (and maybe as an excuse to look at you).
you were at his house after school one day, sitting on his bed as you droned on about your classes and random nonsense.
“uh huhhh,” walker said, nodding his head as he listened. but he wasn’t really listening, he couldn’t focus. not when you were sitting so close to him. he wasn’t paying attention to a word of it, just nodding here and there.
truth was, he was too lost in the fact that he was into you. the only thing he wanted to do was to just grab your shoulders, shake some sense into you, and scream, ‘we should be together already,’ so you would finally take a hint.
“yea, that sounds stressful,” he said with another nod, trying to make it seem like he was paying attention and not just staring at you.
